Abstract:Uniaxial and multiaxial fatigue characteristics of as-extruded and extrudedthen-forged ZK60 magnesium alloys were examined to understand the influence of low-temperature forging on its deformation mechanics. Upon forging, basal texture weakening and grain refinement occurred in ZK60 extrusion. Based on uniaxial results, forging process led to improvements in quasi-static tensile strength and axial cyclic response in high-cycle fatigue regime, whereas shear responses remained unaffected. Biaxial non-proportiona… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
