Since employing environmentally friendly technologies (EFTs) is a complicated and difficult process that is affected by multiple factors, researchers are encouraged to explore those influence factors. This research aims to estimate the households’ perception factors affecting the adoption intentions of EFTs. Based on a questionnaire survey from 782 Pakistani households, a structural equation modeling strategy yields empirical results. The main findings are: firstly, the drivers of adoption intention of EFTs include technological awareness, perceived environmental importance, perceived behavioral control, and perceived benefits. Secondly, significant barriers to the adoption intention of EFTs involve the perceived cost of EFTs and the perceived risk-averse behavior of households. Thirdly, among all factors, perceived environmental importance reveals the most substantial contribution, whereas perceived risk-averse behavior shows the least contribution to the adoption intention of EFTs. Finally, given these results, strengthening the financial benefits, controlling the roaring cost of EFTs, and the provision of rebates and subsidization are suggested to upscale the adoption intention of EFTs by the households.

Norway is leading the share of renewable energy in Europe by almost 75%. However, the share of bioenergy in Norway's energy supply is insignificant. Bioenergy, the most common type of renewable energy, generates more energy than all other forms. This fact demonstrates the value of bioenergy, which will play an increasingly important part in the future energy mix. There are different biomass resources such as agricultural crop residues, forestry, wood processing residues, algae, dedicated energy crops, and municipal and wet organic waste. Biofuel markets in Norway are relatively immature. In past decades, bioenergy consumption in Norway ranged between 4% and 6% of the total primary energy supply. Norway has experienced a gradual increase in total energy supply of biofuels and wastes, and it has almost doubled since 1990, which is 80 petajoule in 2020. However, various barriers are hindering the development of the biomass industry. The present study aims to identify and classify Norway's biomass supply chain challenges and prioritize them using the Delphi-Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Based on a comprehensive literature review, 42 challenges were recognized and classified into seven major categories. Then, a Delphi technique is used to define and choose the main challenges in the context of Norway through an expert panel. Finally, 4 main categories, 9 sub-categories, and 37 challenge indicators related to Norway's biomass industry were selected. Moreover, the AHP method is employed to determine the weight of the challenges using a geometric mean approach. The results show that 'high investment cost', 'Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission', 'minor differences between the energy prices achievable for the sales of heat and electricity', and 'small market size' were the most critical challenge indicators.

Today, India is one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gases with fast growing energy demand. The fact that India has no nationwide energy system due to natural causes such as impassable forests, mountainous areas, and considerable distances, makes the development of microgeneration based on renewable energy is a promising direction for this country from technical, economical, and environmental points of view. The present paper aims at analyzing barriers for developing the microgeneration based on the most advanced renewable energy technologies (photovoltaics and small wind) in India. Our results demonstrate that for many territories in India, microgeneration is not just a supplementary way to provide electricity to the local population, but also the only way. Therefore, higher technical requirements are imposed, particularly the need for parallel development of microgrid management and energy storage technologies. This creates additional technical, infrastructural, and financial barriers to development and reduces the role of an individual consumer (prosumer). Due to the low importance of individual consumers, companies selling and servicing micro-generating equipment are more focused on the B2B sells format, manifested in the strategy of their representation on the Internet.
