Abstract: Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is a multidrug‐resistant (MDR), Gram‐negative bacterium intrinsically resistant to beta‐lactams, including last‐resort carbapenems. As an opportunistic pathogen, it can cause serious healthcare‐related infections.
