Multifractal branching cascades and multiparticle production

Abstract: Analytic branching cascades are suggested to interpret the experimental data obtained in e + e − annihilation into hadrons and in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. The branching dimension extracted from these data using normalized factorial moments (both for one-and two-dimensional cases and for rapidity and azimuthal phase spaces) turned out to be universal and equal to 2.
