“…It is well known that multifunctional nanoparticles based on silica and hydroxyapatite containing stimuli‐responsive polymers seem to be a promising material for use in biomedical applications. This material showed synergistic effects for bone regeneration, controlled drug delivery, and diagnosis (dos Apostolos, Cipreste, de Sousa, & de Sousa, 2020).…”

“…At physiological pH, a rapid release of MTX during the first 2 h was evidenced, reaching 63% of the loaded drug. A constant release followed this stage after 6 h. At pH 5, a trapping of MTX was registered, with only 0.5% of the pharmaceutical agent released during the first 2 h and 4% at around 16 h. This result demonstrated that even though the nanocomposite showed good drug loading efficiency, the delivery system was not adequate for cancer treatment due to the electrostatic interactions between the antitumoral agent and the components of the composite [ 153 ].…”

“…Each approach gives rise to varying morphology and luminescent properties as can be seen in Table 2 . Moreover, nHA can be hybridized with other biocompatible materials and polymers to produce versatile drug delivery platforms [103] , [104] , [105] , [106] . However, to synthesize luminescent material based on nHA the most widely used synthesis techniques are precipitation and hydrothermal.…”
