Multilayer Assemblies Consisting of Tri‐Vanadium‐Substituted Heteropolyanions and Its Electrocatalytic Properties

Abstract: We describe the controlled fabrication of ultrathin multilayer films consisting of tri-vanadium-substituted heteropolytungstate anions (denoted as P 2 W 15 V 3 ) and a cationic polymer of quaternized poly (4-vinylpyridine) partially complexed with osmium bis(2,2'-bipyridine) (denoted as QPVP-Os) on the 4-aminobenzoic acid (4-ABA) modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) surface based on layer-by-layer assembly. Cyclic voltammetry and UV-vis absorption spectrometry have been used to easily monitor the thickness a… Show more

“…Compared to BrO 3 − , it was not sufficient sensitive in the process of catalytic reduction. The electrocatalytic oxidation of ascorbic acid (AA) has been reported by some groups [28,29]. In our experiment, the [SiNi(H 2 O)W 11 O 39 ] 6− /cysteamine/gold electrode has also good catalytic ability toward the oxidation of AA (Fig.…”

“…Vanadium-substituted SiV 2 W 10 O 40 and SiVW 11 O 40 are highly soluble and fairly stable in water, and they are thermally stable in the solid state which renders them useful as both homogeneous and heterogeneous oxidative and acid catalysts. Catalytic reduction of the NO x compounds, particularly nitrite, by reduced vanadium-substituted POMs has become a classical test for their electrocatalytic abilities since the pioneering work in this area [43][44][45][46][47][48]. General aspects of such electrocatalytic processes were discussed recently [49].…”

“…The amplitude of the SO 2À 3 oxidation current was proportional to the concentration of SO 2À 3 . According to our previous studies, the possible reason was that PFS has an effect on the oxidation of SO [41,44,45]. However, the oxidation of AA by POM modified electrode has rarely been reported.…”

“…The electrocatalytic behaviors of POM (POM/PFS) 4 /cysteamine/Au electrode to a series of inorganic ions such as BrO [40,41]. From Figure 6b, it can be seen that the addition of BrO À 3 caused an obvious increase of the cathodic peak current (peak III") and a concomitant decrease of the anodic peak current (peak III).…”
