Abstract: Fluorescence emitted by light-harvesting pigments responds to the physiological state of phytoplankton. We developed a time resolved system to monitor fluorescence from single cells. It captures multiple spectral channels and fluorescence lifetimes, eliminating ensemble averaging of bulk experiments.
