The resolution of the image obtained with ultrasound or photoacoustic signals, which are generated by very short and strong pulse light, is inversely proportional to the frequency of the waves. In the field of medicine and biology, the frequency used for imaging is variable between several MHz to GHz range. Thus, the imaging area is from 10-20 cm to micron order. In this article, these imaging technologies, mainly the authorsʼ development are introduced and the future perspective is discussed.
