Success of organizational initiatives for environmental sustainability hinges upon employees' proenvironmental behaviors. One of the contemporary important challenges faced by HR professionals is to ensure proper integration of environmental sustainability into human resource policies. The green human resource management (green HRM) has emerged from organizations engaging in practices related to protection of environment and maintaining ecological balance. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of green HRM practices (green recruitment and selection, green training and development, green performance management and appraisal, green reward and compensation, and green empowerment) on employee's proenvironmental behavior. Moreover, this study is going to test the mediating effect of proenvironmental psychological capital and the moderating effect of environmental knowledge on green HRM practices-proenvironmental behavior. Data from 347 employees working in coal generating, power industry, food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries were collected. Results revealed that green HRM practices positively affected employee's proenvironmental behavior, and proenvironmental psychological capital mediated this link. Employee's environmental knowledge moderated the effect of green HRM practices on proenvironmental behavior. The grade of the environment is gradually declining especially when it comes to the severe problem of solid waste. It has become a challenging burden for many large metropolitan heterogeneous areas in most of the developing countries. The main purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between households’ attitude, descriptive norm and injunctive norm with intention to practise solid waste segregation-at-source and to ascertain the mediating effect of environmental concern and moderating effect of environmental knowledge between households’ attitude, descriptive norm and injunctive norm with intention to practise solid waste segregation-at-source. The instrument is then validated from four main aspects: face validity, content validity, convergent validity and discriminant validity. After the validation process, the pre-test of this research instrument is conducted among 30 Malaysian households. All the statements have been adjusted after reliability and validity test. The final version of the instrument is set in both closed and open format which consists of eight sections: respondent’s particulars (11 items), general questions on solid waste segregation-at-source (7 items), attitude (14 items), descriptive norm (12 items), injunctive norm (12 items), environmental concern (three subparts and 12 items), environmental knowledge (25 items) and intention to practise solid waste segregation-at-source (8 items). The instrument can further be used to examine other similar research areas such as sustainable consumption, recycling as well as solid waste management.

Personal carbon trading offers a powerful and innovative instrument with which to achieve reductions in carbon emissions. Meanwhile, residents’ personal carbon trading willingness and the factors influencing such willingness have critical effects on the acceptance of personal carbon trading. Therefore, the present research uses a questionnaire survey in metropolitan areas of Tianjin China and the results indicated that most of the interviewees (74.92%) agreed or strongly agreed that they would participant in personal carbon trading. Moreover, according to the results of multiple regression models, governmental policies and residents’ environmental awareness and motivations were positively related to their personal carbon trading willingness. However, personal barriers to personal carbon trading were negatively related to personal carbon trading willingness. Control variables, such as gender and incomes, were not significantly related to personal carbon trading willingness. Thus, monitoring residents’ emission and trading patterns, emphasizing effective, transparent, and fair policies, as well as mitigating uncertainty could all be effective ways to increase the acceptance of personal carbon trading.
