Abstract: The rpoN operon, an important regulatory hub in Enterobacteriaceae, includes rpoN encoding sigma factor σ54, hpf involved in ribosome hibernation, rapZ regulating glucosamine‐6‐phosphate levels, and two genes encoding proteins of the nitrogen‐related phosphotransferase system.
