Abstract:Two patients with multiple sclerosis presenting as a rapidly progressive intracerebral mass lesion are described. Both showed irregular ring enhancement on computed tomography. Brain biopsy specimens showed features of acute demyelination and intense glial reaction. Treatment with oral corticosteroids was followed by clinical improvement.
