Sporothrix complex, which is belongs to the class Ascomycetes, order Coracochetidae and family Coracochetidae and it is widely distributed worldwide, especially in tropical and subtropical regions. 1 In recent years, the incidence of sporotrichosis has been increasing, especially in high incidence areas such as China and Brazil. 2 Sporothrix has reshaped the taxonomic genus based on molecular identification, and at least four species are now recognised as pathogens of sporotrichosis (e.g. S. brasiliensis, S. globosa, S. schenckii and S. luriei). 3,4 The distribution of sporothrix species have a strong geographical variation; S. brasiliensis can be observed in Brazil and Argentina. 5 S. globosa is mainly distributed in Asia while S. schenckii is distributed worldwide. 6 Sporotrichosis is acquired by traumatic inoculation of the fungus into the skin through contact with contaminated plants, soil or decomposing organic matter or,
