Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

Abstract

This chapter uses clinical vignettes and multiple-choice questions to explore core and advanced principles of musculoskeletal ultrasound, including joint effusions, tendon pathology, dislocations, and complex masses. The cases will assess image acquisition pearls and pitfalls, image interpretation, false positive and negative findings, and integration into patient management. Clinical vignettes will include patients presenting with a wide variety of musculoskeletal complaints that are commonly seen in emergency departments and other clinics. Each case will include detailed explanations for correct and incorrect answers, incorporating landmark studies as well as the latest literature that clinical sonographers will find of interest.
