Abstract:This article deals with the global building boom of new concert halls and opera houses. Their spectacular architecture, often designed by the same star architects, obeys the general rules of globalized urban planning, acts as an indicator of urbanity, supports culturally driven urban renewal and attracts mass tourism. However, in this connection music plays a secondary role.
