Mutual coupling reduction in wideband dielectric resonator antennas

Abstract: An effective method for reducing the mutual coupling between wideband dielectric resonator (DR) antennas (DRAs) is proposed by covering the metal on the middle dielectric bridge, the contralateral sides and contralateral upper edges of the DRs. This metal decoupling structure can make the coupled electric fields in the adjacent DR be perpendicular to the electric fields of the excited DR, which produce wideband and high isolation between two adjacent DRAs.
