Mutual Solid Solubility and Phase Equilibrium in the System BaTiO3–BaCeO3

Abstract: A series of (1-x)BaTiO3–xBaCeO3 (x = 0.1–1.0) ceramics were prepared at 1480 °C by a cold-pressing ceramic technique. The mutual solid solubility and phase equilibrium in the system BaTiO3–BaCeO3 were investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. The results indicate that no pure BaCeO3 phase can be separated from the Ba(Ti1-x Ce x )O3 phase. The mutual solid solution limits of BaCeO3 and BaTiO3 are giv… Show more

“…As a matter of fact, the 840 cm À1 band also appeared in the spectra of the Ba(Ti 1Àx Ce x )O 3 (x ¼ 0:1) ceramic that we prepared under the same conditions as the present BTC samples (1480 C for 24 h), as shown in Fig. 6, 19) which are cited from Ref. 19 and enlarged for observation.…”
