“…BAP has been reported to be more efficient at inducing shoot proliferation than other cytokinins in many other plants, including some Scutellaria species. Joshee et al (2007) found the maximum number of shoots from shoot tips of S. integrifolia (23 per explant) to be obtained on MS medium supplemented with 2.2 lM BAP, while for S. discolor the best results were obtained in the presence of 4.4 lM BAP (Sinha et al 1999). Also, the increase in fresh and dry biomass of S. alpina shoots grown for 5 weeks on media containing BAP was largest, although the shoots were shorter than those grown in the presence of other tested cytokinins, especially kinetin and zeatin, and those cultured on control medium (MS without cytokinin).…”

“…The establishment of in vitro grown seedlings in soil is hampered by weak root system at the beginning of acclimation, however, the symbiotic association between AMF and plant roots increases the survival rate of plant to strengthen the root system (Yadav et al, 2012). This strengthening can reflect the importance of AMF for nutrients and water uptake at low fertilized environments, defense against pathogens, decreased water stress improving some important characteristics for plant acclimation (Joshee et al, 2007;Pindi, 2011;Singh et al, 2012;Yadav et al, 2013).…”

“…bicolor using modifi ed MS medium & TDZ also evaluated effects of TDZ treatments for different durations of time in MS medium (containing MS salts, B5 vitamin and 3% sucrose), to induce regeneration. Similarly, shoot and callus culture techniques have also been used to observe phenolic compound in S. orientalis, S. baicalensis, S. iyoensis, S. taurica, S. laterifl ora, S. ventenatii, S. pontica, S. taurica, S. galericulata, S. integrifolia and S. alpina (Nishikawa et al 1999, Hirotani et al 1998, Zobayed et al 2004and Joshee et al 2007.…”
