Abstract:SUMMARY
A child is reported who developed a mycotic aneurysm of the cavernous portion of the internal carotid artery following staphylococcal cellulitis and septicemia. The unique feature of this case was the conspicuous absence of clinical or arteriographic evidence of cavernous sinus thrombosis. The pathogenesis of mycotic aneurysms is discussed.
