Myocardial fatty acid metabolism during acute cardiac allograft rejection

Abstract: Fatty acids are promptly taken up, metabolised and eliminated by healthy cardiomyocytes. Cardiomyopathy, coronary heart disease and chronic rejection are known to be associated with an impaired fatty acid metabolism.
