“…As a significant member in families of polyarylmethanes, fluorinated polyarylmethanes such as polyfluoro di ‐ and tri‐ arylmethanes represent a distinct class of fluorinated compounds due to their marvelous properties in liquid crystals, [15] dyes, [16] tri ‐aryl carbenium ions [17] . Although diverse approaches have been developed to fulfill the functionalization of polyfluoroarenes via selective C−H/F cleavage of polyfluoroarenes, [18] the efficient synthesis strategies to access polyfluoro di ‐ and tri ‐arylmethanes are still a challenge.…”

Novel triarylmethane dyes decorated with 2-thienyl, 2-thieno[3,2-b]thienyl, and 2-dithieno[3,2-b:2′,3′-d]thienyl rings as auxochromes were much more bathochromic than the known crystal violet.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
