Abstract:N-Benzyl Derivatives of Leucine Esters. -N-Acyl-N-benzylleucine derivatives (VI) are prepared via reduction of the Schiff bases (III). The reduction of ethyl ester (IIIb) with sodium tetrahydroborate in methanol is accompanied by transesterification. The use of an excess of the reduction agent also involves the ester groups, leading to the corresponding amino alcohols (VII). -(POPOVA, L. A.; YURASHEVICH, N. Y.; KNIZHNIKOV, V. A.; Russ.
