“…[1] Like other members of the genus, it is also a rich source of bisbenzylisoquinoline (BBI) alkaloids that are well known for their pharmacological activities such as antimicrobial, [2,3] antitumor [4] and hypotensive [2,3,5] effects. The alkaloids tiliacorine (1), tiliacorinine (2), tiliamosine (3), tiliaresine (4), tiliarine (5), N-methyltiliamosine (6), 2 -nortiliacorinine (7), N-methyltiliarine (8), tiliacosine (9) and tiliasine (10) (Fig. 1) were isolated earlier from different parts of the plant and were identified to be biphenyldibenzodioxinbisbenzylisoquinoline type from detailed spectral evidences.…”

“…This plant has been used as an ingredient in many of the Ayuvedic preparations and the ethnomedicinal uses of this plant include its use as an antidote for snake bite [1][2]. The leaf or root paste is applied on the bitten area soon after bite [3].Juice from macerated leaves is applied to cuts in folks [4].crude and solvent extract of T.acuminata flowers shown highly activity against the larval form of Culex quinquefasciatus [5] .A new lactone [6], two alkaloids tiliaresineand (+) N-methyl-tiliamosine were isolated from its leaves [7] ,Tannins, Steroids,Saponins, reducing sugars are reported from leaves [8] and an oil acuminated from seed have been isolated and characterized [9].Several pharmacological and biological activities have been studied earlier Antinociceptive and antidiarhoeal activities of ethanolic leaf extract [10]antibacterial activity [11]and antiinflammatory of different extracts of of aerial parts [12].…”
