Abstract: L Bettendorff*, P Wins functions of thiamine derivatives, mainly focusing on non-coenzyme roles. Conclusion A hundred years ago, the discovery of thiamine opened the way to the vitamin era of biochemistry, leading to the discovery of the importance of pyruvate oxidation in energy metabolism. This vitamin still has not revealed all of its secrets at a time when metabolomics is emerging as a new powerful tool to refine our knowledge of cellular reactions.
