Abstract: Pseudomonas aeruginosa is the most prevalent cause of keratitis, which can cause progressive corneal injury, scarring, thinning and corneal perforation. Antibiotic treatment alone is inadequate in some cases because the inflammatory process continues even after the bacteria have been eliminated.
