The mission of WOT Natuur & Milieu is to carry out statutory research tasks on issues relating to nature and the environment. These tasks are implemented in order to support the Dutch Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, who is responsible for these issues. We provide data about agri-environment, biodiversity and soil information to compile reports as part of national and international obligations, and we work on products of the PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency, such as the Assessment of the Human Environment reports. De automatische validatie van de typische VHR-soorten levert daarmee een 6% hoger duurzaamheidspercentage op dan de 55% na handmatige validatie (Pouwels & Henkens, 2020).…”

Het Model for Nature Policy (MNP, MetaNatuurPlanner) wordt door o.a. het Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving (PBL) gebruikt voor modelsimulaties om het duurzaam voorkomen van soorten in Nederland en de staat van instandhouding van plant-en diersoorten in Nederland te schatten. De berekende indicator wordt beschouwd als proxy voor het doelbereik van de Vogel-en Habitatrichtlijn. Het model speelt een rol bij verschillende CLOindicatoren en wordt standaard ingezet voor de Balans van de Leefomgeving en de Natuurverkenning. Het MNP wordt daarom voortdurend verder ontwikkeld om tegemoet te kunnen komen aan nieuwe beleidsvragen en wetenschappelijke eisen. Deze rapportage beschrijft vier technische ontwikkelingen, te weten: Automatisering validatie, Automatisering berekening draagkrachten, Rekenmethoden van de abiotische randvoorwaarden binnen MNP en de Onzekerheids-en gevoeligheidsanalyse.
