Nandao-Questions as a Special Kind of Rhetorical Questions

Abstract: This paper addresses the syntax and semantics of a special kind of Rhetorical Question (RQ) in Mandarin, i.e. questions with nandao (nandao-Q). Nandao-Qs necessarily have rhetorical question readings.
