Nanocarriers Based Novel Drug Delivery as Effective Drug Delivery: A Review

Abstract: Background: A lot of people are facing some health-related problems in day to day life. The conventional drug delivery is not able to cure it alone, moreover, some drugs have poor solubility, low half-life and show lesser bioavailability. It is necessary to conduct research on carrier-based nanoparticulate drug delivery, this is an alternative approach to alter/eliminate the problem of conventional dosing for better effectiveness, patient compliance, and effective drug targeting. Objective: To develop a car… Show more

“…Nanocarriers show so many advantages for drug delivery, including appropriate particle size, tunable surface charge, large surface area and drug loading capacity. These properties make nanodrug delivery systems ideal candidates for detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease [ 17 , 69 , 70 , 71 ].…”

“…Most of the available anti-cancer drug regimens use highly toxic drugs, such as doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide, which are administered to patients systemically. The systemic toxicity of such drugs limits the therapeutic concentrations that are achievable at the target tissue (i.e., cancer) for the vast majority of the compounds in use [ 2 , 3 ]. New delivery modalities have been investigated over the past years aiming to improve the therapeutic index, by enhancing tumour cell targeting while delivering the chemotherapeutic(s).…”

“…It is also the easiest way to select the most promising compounds for further testing. New trends in molecular medicine are associated with the creation and usage of multi-functional complexes to solve several problems at once [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 ]. In this connection, metal coordination compounds can act not only as anticancer drugs, but also as excellent agents that provide the involving of different ligands into multifunctional construction via coordination bonds.…”
