Nanodispersed Powders of Fe-Ni Particles with Carbon Shell

Abstract: The initial carbon condensate containing nickel-iron nanoparticles with a graphite conversion was synthesized in the high-frequency carbon-helium arc plasma at ambient pressure. The nickel-iron particles were extracted by the treatment of the carbon condensate with nitric and hydrochloric acids. Undissolved residue and dissolved sample were received. Undissolved residue has both the structure and magnetic properties of (MR/Ms = 0.30, Hc = 270 Oe). Lack of hysteresis loops for the dissolved sample shown that me… Show more

“…It should be noted that metal nanoparticles encapsulated in a carbon shell (metalcarbon nanocomposites) are of great interest in connection with the prospects for their application in the creation of new materials for technology and medicine [34,35]. The inert carbon coating of the particles makes it possible to use them in medicine as biocompatible and non-toxic delivery vehicles for the diagnosis and therapy [36][37][38][39]. In [40], a high catalytic activity of metal-carbon nanocomposites was found, probably due to the structural and electronic state of the carbon shell and metal core [41,42].…”
