Abstract: The problem of antibiotic resistance (AR) in pathogenic bacteria due to the massive use of antibiotics in animals is an underestimated issue. Finding alternatives to reduce or eliminate the appearance and spread of AR is a pressing issue for humanity. Enzymes with antibiotic properties may serve as antimicrobial agents, less prone to generating AR due to their proteic nature and mode of action.
