Nanoparticle release from anionic nanocellulose hydrogel matrix

Abstract: Nanocellulose hydrogels have been shown to be excellent platforms for sustained delivery of drug molecules. In this study, we examine the suitability of anionic nanocellulose hydrogels for the sustained release of various nanoparticles. Systems releasing nanoparticles could produce applications especially for therapeutic nanocarriers, whose life-times in vivo might be limited. Micelles, liposomes and DNA origami nanostructures were incorporated into the nanocellulose hydrogels, and their release rates were mea… Show more

“…Particularly, cyanine-labeled cationic liposomes were immobilized inside 2% ANFC for more than two weeks with negligible leakage. 22 In present study, a tetracationic zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc(MePy)4) was chosen for the proposed drug release system. 23 We have used the pyridine substituted phthalocyanine zinc complex (4,4´,4´´,4´´´-(29H,31H-phthalocyanine-1,8,15,22tetrayl-k4N29,N30,N31,N32)…”
