Nanoplasmonics and its Applied Devices

Abstract: Nanoplasmonics makes a connection to conventional optics to the nanoworld. Interesting performance like subwavelength focusing to invisibility cloaking, nanoplasmonics have profound applications in science and engineering world from biophotonics to nanocircuitry. Metal and dielectric have free d-shell electrons. When metal and dielectric of different refractive index come in contact, these free electrons get accumulated in a region at the metal-semiconductor interface forming nanoplasmons. Practical implementa… Show more

“…However, the reason for the coloring has been scientifically elucidated not too long ago. The deep-red color of gold colloids with a very large extinction coefficient is due to the plasmonic oscillation of the free electrons confined in the nanoparticles and coupled with the green light with a wavelength of approximately 520 nm, resulting in the formation of the LSP [64,65]. In other words, green light with a wavelength of 520 nm can be confined to nano-sized (approximately 5-20 nm) gold colloids.…”

“…The metal silver deposited on TiNT layer with photo-assisted deposition (PAD) method. Moreover, TiNT has shown to be able to increase osteoblast cell adhesion and influence cellular behavior to enhance tissue engineering [12]. It is generally accepted that modification titanium alloys for improved antibacterial properties and osseointegration is required.…”
