“…In this paper, the results obtained on the synthesis of TiC-TiB 2 powders through a novel processing route based on the metastability as key concept is reported. The process is described in detail in [5] and combines the SHS synthesis of TiC-TiB 2 powders with approximately eutectic composition with a rapid cooling of the products by quench. The necessary condition is that the combustion temperature of the SHS reaction is higher than the melting point of the eutectic composition of the TiC-TiB 2 system (2620°C [6]).…”
