Narrow Band Imaging‐guided resection of oral cavity cancer decreases local recurrence and increases survival

Abstract: Resection to NBI-defined margins improves survival rates and decreases recurrence rates of OSCC compared to traditional methods and should be adopted as the new gold standard for determining mucosal surgical margins for treatment of oral cavity cancer. These promising results have set the scene for a multicentred randomised controlled trial comparing NBI to WL currently underway.
