Native machinery of membrane‐associated protein synthesis

Abstract: A large fraction of ribosomal synthesis occurs at organellar membranes. At the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), the inner mitochondrial, and the thylakoid membrane, nascent proteins are co‐translationally inserted or transported into other compartments.
