It would not be necessary to stress the fact that the subjects of the present experiment showed progressively less discomfort, less shivering and less peripheral cooling in the cold room if it were not for claims by Edholm (1959Edholm ( , 1960 that cold acclimatization might not exist in man; but the present findings are further evidence of cold acclimatization, and they are perhaps interesting because cooling lasted only 3 hr daily for 9 days.…”
