Abstract:In this article, we report on laser-induced radiation and spontaneous radiation emitted from a chamber containing hydrogen Rydberg matter. The emitted isotropic radiation penetrates a 3-mm-thick steel wall and several meters of air. The radiation can be detected using a simple photoelectric multiplier (PM) detector with aluminum foil covering the front end of the PM tube. The experimental setup, how to initiate the radiation, and radiation detector construction are discussed in this article. In addition, the d… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
