Abstract:World wide availability, independence from weather and climatic conditions, possibility of mea surements at any point on the earth and near earth space, being the most important properties of satellite navigation, allow it to be successfully used in the control loop of observation satellites, providing their auton omous operation. The structure and functions of a satellite navigation system are discussed. Some problems of navigation accuracy estimation with the use of GNSS signals are considered.
