The motion of a tight-binding quasi-particle in a dichotomous stochastic time In this note we show that the decoupling approach /1/ although interpolating between band limit (BL, U = 0) and atomic limit (AL, bandwidth 2A = 0) fails to reproduce the static limit (SL, a = 0) in contbast to the dynamical CPA /3/ which interpolates between the above limit c a s e s correctly. For a not too small, however, in both approaches the density of states (DOS) shows the s a m e qualitative behaviour and the solutions of the self-consistency condition in the dynamic approximation for the Hubbard model differ only slightly. 2) Recently, the s a m e results have been obtained by Inaba /2/ using a diagram technique and were announced t o be published in /4/.
