Technology brings opportunities to extend the learning environment outside the classroom. An online course can be an extracurricular activity which allows the students to learn English for their career preparation. This article reports a developmental research for designing an online learning module for nursing students to pursue their career abroad. One English teacher and 40 nursing students from a private university participated in this research. Interview and questionnaire were employed to collect the data regarding the students’ need, usability, and the implementation of the product during the field try out. Two experts were also invited to evaluate the quality of the product’s content and instructional technology. The result of this developmental study is an online course and a workbook to accompany the students learning. The findings reveal that online learning has an opportunity to help students to shape their work-related language skills at home. The challenges for the implementation of this course are also discussed.

English language courses are provided in universities throughout the majority of the world where English is used as a second or first language to address students' English language needs in the target-situation use. However, at all Ethiopian Universities where English is taught as a foreign language, two English language skills courses, dubbed "communicative English language skills I" and "communicative English language skills II," are offered as standard courses in the first year. Large language gaps have been noted, particularly in health science academic and professional settings where English is largely expected. Hence, this study aimed to identify Health Science students’ English language gaps so that English language courses are designed accordingly. This study employed a mixed-methods research design. It was conducted via tests, observations, and interviews. The findings revealed that participant students had good proficiency in grammar and usage as well as reading skills. However, they had poor proficiency in listening skills, which in turn indicated that the students had difficulty understanding spoken English. The findings also indicated that these students demonstrated an inability to write an acceptable essay. The study further revealed that students' failure to describe a patient, the case, the complaints, and the drugs in medical terminology was partially due to a lack of English language skills. As a result, while developing English language course materials for health science students, course designers and practitioners should address these English language gaps existing in students’ academic studies and future professions.

The awareness of English language mastery leads to the effort of learning the language as early as possible. Since English is used as a foreign language in Indonesia, therefore English have to be introduced to the early childhood and elementary children institutions. When a foreign language is introduced to young learners, it requires special knowledge about how children acquire and learn language, so a proper learning method can be formulated as well. This research aims to conduct the needs analysis in developing English curriculum for early childhood and elementary school children. This research employed a case study research. It was carried out through surveys with relevant subject and related stakeholder at LKP SQUARE Education Center English Program Balai Pengembangan Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini dan pendidikan Masyarakat (BP-PAUD dan Dikmas) Kalimantan Selatan. The object of the research is the subject's response including the tendency of the teachers for applying the curriculum in their teaching activities, the students’ performance, and the students’ character. The data were collected through interview, questionnaire, and observation. The data were analysed descriptively. The finding showed that the young learners need to master English skill actively and confidently.Keywords- Needs Analysis, Curriculum Development, English for Young Learners
