“…Peritoneal dissemination after EUS-FNA for intraductal papillary mucinous carcinoma was first reported in 2003 [ 59 ]. Since that time, 28 cases of NTS have been reported ( Table 2 ) [ 59 , 60 , 61 , 62 , 63 , 64 , 65 , 66 , 67 , 68 , 69 , 70 , 71 , 72 , 73 , 74 , 75 , 76 , 77 , 78 , 79 , 80 , 81 , 82 , 83 ].…”

“…Since the first described case of EUS-FNA-induced needle tract seeding in a patient with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm in 2003[ 45 ], 33 patients with needle tract seeding following EUS-FNA or EUS-FNB have been reported up to January 2020. Of these cases, 27 were found in pancreatic cancer patients after EUS-FNA[ 19 , 20 , 25 , 27 , 28 , 36 , 40 , 46 - 58 ], one in a pancreatic cancer patient after EUS-FNB[ 34 ] (Table 1 ), and five in patients with other intra-abdominal and intrathoracic tumors after EUS-FNA[ 59 - 63 ] (Table 2 ). A total of 29 cases with pancreatic body or pancreatic tail cancer had needle tract seeding caused by diagnostic FNA or FNB.…”

“…Although a few reports have addressed the adverse events of EUS‐FNA, reinvestigation is required because several new devices to perform EUS‐FNA have been recently developed. Furthermore, the cases of needle tract seeding subsequent to EUS‐FNA have been reported, 3,21–42 and although this adverse event may preoperatively occur, the specific incidence remains unknown. This study aims to clarify the current status of patients who experienced adverse events related to the EUS‐FNA procedure for histopathologic diagnoses.…”
