Nerve root degeneration and regeneration by intrathecal phenol in rats: a morphologic approach

Abstract: Intrathecal injection of phenol (ITP) has been used to control intractable pain and spasticity. Direct caustic nerve damage has been postulated as the mechanism of analgesia.
