Cyanoborate chemistry has emerged to an important topic during the last two decades, beginning with two independent reports on the successful synthesis of the tetracyanoborate anion [B(CN) 4 ]in 2000. A wealth of cyanoborate anions with different substituents in addition to CN group(s) bonded to boron, i.e. hydrogen, halogen, aryl, alkenyl, alkyl, perfluoroalkyl, and alkoxy, have been developed, which enable the tuning of properties of compounds and materials based on them. The readily accessible alkali metal cyanoborates are convenient starting materials for the preparation of cyanoborates with various organic, inorganic, and metal cations as well as cyanoborate coordination compounds. Eingegangen a m 7. Marz 1970 Bei der Umsetzung von Kalium-triphenylcyanoboranat (1) mit Triphenylchlormethan und tert.-Butyljodid entstehen die Betaine 2a und 2b, die auch durch Addition von Triphenylmethyl-bzw. tert.-Butyl-isonitril an Triphenylboran zuganglich sind. 1 reagiert mit Benzoldiazonium-tetrafluoroborat uber das Diazoniumsalz 5 zu einer Verbindung 4, welche die bisher nicht beschriebene N-Diazo-nitrilium-Gruppierung enthalt. Reactions oj' Potassium Triphenylcyunoborute with the Cyuno Group as Nucleophilic CentrePotassium triphenylcyanoborate (1) reacts with triphenylmethyl chloride and tert.-butyl iodide to the betaines 2a and 2b, which are also formed as addition compounds of triphenylmethyl isocyanide and tert.-butyl isocyanide with triphenyl borane. 1 and benzenediazonium fluoroborate give the diazo salt 5 which rearranges to a compound 4 containing the N-diazonitrilium group not described until now.Komplexverbindungen des Typs M[R3BCN] rnit R = H, Chlor, Alkyl und Aryl sind seit Iangerer Zeit bekannt 1-6).Kiirzlich berichteten wir7) iiber Umsetzungen von Kalium-triathylcyanoboranat mit Saurechloriden, die zu Sgliedrigen B-0-N-Heterocyclen fiihren. Der Versuch, diese Reaktion auf Kalium-triphenylcyanoboranat zu iibertragen, lieferte nicht die entsprechenden Verbindungens). Offenbar bleibt hier die Reaktion auf der Stufe der instabilen N-Acyl-nitrilium-Verbindungen stehen, die sich infolge erschwerter Phenylwanderung nicht zu den stabilen Heterocyclen umlagern, sondern sich undefiniert zersetzen.
