Neuromarketing research in the last five years: a bibliometric analysis

Abstract: Neuromarketing (NM) is an application of neuroimaging and physiological tools to record the neural correlates of consumers' behaviour (e.g., decision-making, emotion, attention, and memory) toward marketing stimuli such as brands and advertisements. This study aims to present the current tools employed in the empirical research in the last five years. In this article, we have followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) framework and a bibliometric analysis to select … Show more

“…VOSviewer software has been used to map the literature of this study as it is a powerful/impactful tool to create a visualisation view/map according to the area of interest. This VOSviewer has been widely used in bibliometric research in various domains, for example, in neuromarketing (Alsharif et al, 2021d;Alsharif et al, 2021e;Alsharif et al, 2021f;Sánchez-Fernández et al, 2021), service quality in healthcare (Ali et al, 2021a), mobile healthcare (Ali et al, 2021c), services and service quality (Ali et al, 2021b),maven and mavenism (Abbas et al, 2020a), electronic word of mouth (EWOM) (Abbas et al, 2020b). Figure 1 shows the structure, indicators, and tools that have been used in this study.…”

“…Accordingly, the researcher concludes that the local judiciary in the United Arab Emirates has settled on implementing the principle of retroactivity and has changed this principle in many of its rulings to follow in the footsteps of the Federal Supreme Court, which has settled on the principle of non-retroactivity of administrative decisions. Contemporarily, it also can be used neuromarketing tools to study the individuals' decision and better understand the individuals ' behavior (see Alsharif et al, 2021a;2021b, 2021c2021d;2021e;.…”

“…But the first study under the neuromarketing term was conducted by McClure, et al [5], which was highly contributed to shifting the neuromarketing field from a pure study to a practical study. Neuromarketing is a multidisciplinary field, measuring the subconscious and unconscious responses of consumers toward advertising, marketing, and branding; thereby enriching us with valuable information about consumers behavior [6,7].…”
