“…[ 42 ] Brain oxidative damage is also considered an important mechanism for LPS-induced memory deficits. [ 15 26 ] In the present study, we observed that memory impairment caused by LPS was accompanied by brain tissue oxidative stress. LPS resulted in significantly increased levels of TBARS in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex, and decreased levels of total thiol concentration in the cortex, which were blocked by carvacrol.…”

“…It has been long cultivated in Europe, with its leaves being used as a herb, roots as a vegetable, and seeds as a spice, especially in the southern European cuisine. It has a possible gonadotropic effect -androgenic, a relaxing effect on the myometrium, an increased effect on libido, but no effect on lactation is expressed (Amraie et al 2020).…”

“…Previous studies demonstrated that LPS induced βamyloid peptide deposit and inflammation in the neural tissue resulted in severe learning and memory impairment using various behavioural tasks 17,18,19 The systemic inflammation and neuroinflammation induced by LPS injection, which promotes the formation of Aβ plaque and neurofibrillary tangles, are two hallmarks of AD. 12 Both stimulate continuous hyperactivation of microglia and astrocytes that further activates the release of proinflammatory cytokines such as tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1a (IL-1a) and complement protein (C1q).…”
