Abstract: Inflammatory processes cause changes in the permeability of the blood brain barrier. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) are most commonly used to treat these inflammatory processes, including meloxicam, and they can reach the central nervous system (CNS) and cause neurotoxicity.
