Abstract:Treatment of neurological disease is hampered by the lack of validated specific and sensitive biomarkers, resulting in delayed diagnosis and nonspecific disease modifying therapies. For example, in ALS the lack of a sensitive and specific biomarker impedes the ability to administer a treatment prior to or at the onset of motor neuron dysfunction.
