Neutrino fluxes from a core-collapse supernova in a model with three sterile neutrinos

Abstract: The characteristics of the gravitational collapse of a supernova and the fluxes of active and sterile neutrinos produced during the formation of its protoneutron core have been calculated numerically. The relative yields of active and sterile neutrinos in core matter with different degrees of neutronization have been calculated for various input parameters and various initial conditions. A significant increase in the fraction of sterile neutrinos produced in superdense core matter at the resonant degree of neu… Show more

“…Let us specify the neutrino masses using a normally ordered set of values {m} = {m i , m i }. For the masses of active neutrinos, we take the estimates of the neutrino masses proposed in [40][41][42] for the NO case (in units of eV), which do not contradict to up-to-date experimental data:…”

“…45 the effect of increasing of sterile neutrinos yield in a high-density medium when the ratio of the number of neutrons to the number of protons approaches to two was considered in detail. This effect can have impact on the characteristics of fluxes of active neutrinos in supernovae 46,47 . Phenomenological models with additional SN and HN are usually denoted as (3+N ) models, or, in detail, as (k+3+n+m) models,…”
