New analytical method for dynamic non-linear elastic-plastic deformation of rotating machine rotor

Abstract: A new analytical method is presented to evaluate the dynamic deformation and the elastic-plastic stress and strain in rotating machine shafts as result of transient axial forces. This new method has capability to account for the geometric non-linearity, the initial shaft imperfection, the elastic-plastic deformation and the dynamic/transient effects.
