“…The recent finding by Auger et al of autoantibodies against another tumor-antigen BRAF in RA patients, further underscores the importance of our findings [41]. Interestingly, one-third of the anti-BRAF antibodypositive RA patients were ACCP-negative [41].…”

“…In view of this increased oncogene expression in RA synovium and the finding of a thicker synovial lining in ACCPnegative RA, antibodies against candidate oncogenes can be seen as a consequence of loss of tolerance or as part of a protective immunity against hyperproliferating cells [40]. “…[15][16][17][18][19] In an attempt to identify novel autoantibody biomarkers in IBD patients, we evaluated the autoimmune profile in a limited cohort of patients (10 UC and 15 CD) and controls (n ÂŒ 5) by means of a protein microarray containing 8268 human proteins. In all, 256 antigens were identified to which IBD patients had a higher seroreactivity than controls.…”

“…The role of PADI4 in early RA pathogenesis is mainly through promoting the generation of citrullinated autoantigens [57,58]. PADI4 has been identified as a new therapeutic target for RA treatment [59][60][61][62]. PADI4 is also overexpressed in the multiple sclerosis [63,64], and heterozygote genotypes for PADI4_89 were protectively associated with susceptibility to tuberculosis in Koreans [65]; however, the underlying mechanism remains unclear.…”
