“…The increased fruit weight in paclobutrazol treated plants might be due to the increased rate of photosynthesis and an increase in chlorophyll content. Quinlan (1981) opined that paclobutrazol increased the water use efficiency in photosynthesis of leaves by increasing the rate of photosynthesis for a given level of leaf stomatal conductance or transpiration. Paclobutrazol in general caused an increase in fruit number as well as yield per plant compared to control.…”
